Frequently Asked Questions

How much do wedding dress alterations cost?

Most wedding dress alterations at Gown & Grace range from $300 to $600, depending on the work your gown needs. A $50 consultation fee secures your first appointment and is deducted from your final invoice when you complete your alterations with us.

How do I book an appointment?

Book online at gownandgrace.ca/book-online, or email amanda@gownandgrace.ca with your event date and garment type. We recommend booking 3-4 months ahead, and even earlier during peak season.

What areas do you serve?

All fittings take place at our Chilliwack, BC studio, so we welcome brides and grads from anywhere. Clients regularly travel to us from across the Fraser Valley (Abbotsford, Mission, Agassiz, Hope), Metro Vancouver, and the BC Interior. By appointment only.

Do you offer day-of wedding dress services?

Yes. We offer Day-Of Wedding Dress Services with limited availability, including last-minute adjustments, steaming, bustle set-up, and on-site support so your gown looks perfect from ceremony to reception.

Do you alter bridesmaid and grad dresses too?

Yes. Beyond bridal we alter prom and grad gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and formal dresses for wedding guests. Dresses and gowns are our specialty, so we do not offer general tailoring or menswear.

How many fittings will my dress need?

Most gowns need 2-3 fittings. At your first visit we review your alterations contract, take your measurements, and map out the fittings and budget together so there are no surprises.

How far in advance should I book my fitting?

Book your first fitting 3-4 months before your wedding, prom, or special event. During peak season (March to September), reach out even earlier if possible, as appointments are limited.

What should I bring to my first fitting?

Bring your event shoes and the undergarments you plan to wear, and complete any planned body changes before your first appointment for the best fit. You are welcome to bring 1-2 guests along to your fittings.
